8.1 August 27, 1967 Kids' letters home

 August 27 (the following three letters written on one air letter) Dear Grandma and Grandpa,     We went to Kenyatta and saw a giant monkey bar and we climbed it. Vicki climbed to the top and so did Milton.     Diane bought a sheepskin rug for 50 shillings. 14 cents equals one shilling. 50 shillings equal seven dollars.     Mom bought two big baskets, one for nine shillings and one for three shillings.                         Love, Amy Dear Grandma and Grandpa,     By the way I climbed to the top of the monkey bars too. They must have been 20 feet off the ground. There were also two big poles that were hooked onto the monkey bars on the top. They looked like two fireman poles, and that is just what we used them for.
